Ronnie Lewis

Executive Manager

Ronnie Lewis has 29 years of experience in public safety, having retired as the Chief of Police for the Town of Bedford. He began his career in 1994 as a member of the Lynchburg Fire Department, where he held various roles, including firefighter/EMT, member of the Technical Rescue Team, and Honor Guard. He also served as a Captain in the Fire Marshal’s Office, overseeing fire investigations.


In 2009, Chief Lewis joined the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office as a field deputy. He was later hired by the City of Fairfax, VA Police Department in 2011. During his time there, he took on several roles, including Emergency Services Team Commander, Peer Support Team Commander, the creator and Commander of the Civil Disturbance Unit, and Patrol Operations Commander.


He graduated from Keiser University and holds a Master of Science in Management from Kaplan University. He has also completed several training programs, including the Professional Executive Leadership School, Command Excellence School, Senior Management Institute for Police, and a Certified Public Management program administered by George Mason University.


He is proud of his service to the public. He strongly believes in proactive community education and citizen partnerships as fundamental strategies for preventing crime and cultivating positive collaborative relationships between the community and the police.
