Did you know...the Berkley Group served as an Interim Planner for the City of Williamsburg?
For the past 5 months, the Berkley Group's Maxie Brown served as an Interim Planner for the City of Williamsburg. With over 30 years of experience, she helped support the City's Architectural Review Board (ARB).
"I enjoyed working in “Virginia’s Colonial Capital.” The City staff were awesome! Williamsburg’s Architectural Review Board is comprised of seven exceptionally gifted and talented individuals with a real passion for historic and architectural preservation. The Board meets twice monthly and the case load was heavy at times (Williamsburg has numerous architectural preservation overlay districts – all unique in their own way). I was delighted to get entrenched in the “Architectural Review Guidelines”. I also worked with staff on updating the ARB Application. Looking back, there were days I felt like I was walking back in time, reviewing on-going projects in the Colonial area, feeling like I was a working tourist. When I wasn’t working, I tried to visit at least a few of the phenomenal restaurants and shops along Duke of Gloucester Street."

Through the Berkley Group’s Community Development staff support services (interim and ongoing), Maxie helped manage the City's daily workload with the support of the Berkley Groups team of planning and zoning professionals.
