Community Engagement for the City of Emporia

Instead of hosting a traditional Open House to review the proposed Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, the Berkley Group and the City of Emporia decided to meet the people where they were. During Emporia’s Night Out, the Berkley Group provided a table of informational materials and discussed some of the major proposed changes with citizens. A survey link was also provided for additional comments. This was a great opportunity to educate and receive feedback on the proposed ordinance. Next month, the Berkley Group will hold a joint meeting with the Planning Commission and City Council to discuss the feedback and desired edits from the community engagement activity.
