Adoption of the Dinwiddie County Comprehensive Plan

The Berkley Group is pleased to announce the Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted a new Comprehensive Plan, “Dinwiddie Forward,” on September 19, 2023.

The Berkley Group began working with Dinwiddie County on the Comprehensive Plan update in 2021. The process initiated with a diagnostic of the former Comprehensive Plan. Community engagement occurred in the fall of 2021, with Plan drafting occurring in 2022 and into 2023. “Dinwiddie Forward” focuses on the balance between protecting the County’s rural and agricultural landscapes and encouraging high-quality, smart, and strategic future growth and development. “Dinwiddie Forward” addresses complex topics, including aging in place, balancing different land uses, building a multi-modal transportation system, and supporting public health through land use decisions.
