APWA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Conference: May 2-4 in Fredericksburg, VA

We hope to see you at the APWA Mid-Atlantic Chapter conference this week!

The Berkley Group is active with the American Public Works Association (APWA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter – serving on committees, sponsoring events, and giving presentations. Here’s where to find us at the annual conference in Fredericksburg:

  • Visit our booth in the exhibit hall May 2-3. We’re at booth 308, just past the refreshments. The reception with exhibitors is 6-8pm Wednesday and exhibit hours are 8am-5pm Thursday. Catch up with our COO Drew Williams, Denise Nelson, and Shaina Schaffer.

  • Attend the “Sustainable Infrastructure” session at 1pm Thursday, May 3rd to hear from Fairfax County, Blacksburg, and Denise Nelson on Envision. The panel will introduce the Envision guidance and rating system for sustainable infrastructure, implementation and achievements over the last 6 years, and how local governments in Virginia are adopting Envision into project delivery.

  • Walk and talk with us on the Smart Growth Walking Session at 3pm on Thursday, May 3rd. Denise Nelson will lead the short walk around Central Park with discussions prompted by Henrico County, VHB, Fredericksburg, and Fairfax County.

  • Eat, drink, and be merry at the conference social from 6-9pm, Thursday, May 3rd at Bowman Distillery. Don’t forget to smile for photo ops – Denise will be taking photos for the chapter twitter feed!

  • Hear Drew Williams discuss opportunities for saving time and money in procurement at the 8am Management Session, Friday May 4th.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a Community Resilience Plan at a special workshop from 8am-12pm, Friday May 4th. Denise Nelson will be moderating the workshop based on the NIST Community Resilience Planning Guide.

We look forward to seeing you there! If you can’t make it to our sessions or can’t make it to this event at all, give us a call for more information on these topics!
